I'm studying nursing in the UK, & we have 3 week break in August, which is mid-term, with the new term starting 20th September.

I just wondered what vacation time was like in the US.

Depends on if one has money to even afford a vacation. I need a vacation, but I don't have the funds to take a vacation right now. I'm working on changing that, but have to land a job first. :uhoh3:

What's it like living in the UK? Where do you take vacations? :)

I meant like a break from nursing school. I have managed to have a vacation (Holiday) I went to Kefalonia which is one of the Greek Islands, I had to work so hard to pay for it.

I live just outside of Rochester, Kent (not far from London) & go to university in Canterbury.

At some point I'm planning on working in the USA.

Our summer break goes from the first week in May till the last week in August. I have been working at a lab FT (my career before nursing school) and PT as a patient care tech at a local hospital. I also went to St Augustine, FL; San Diego, CA; and Ft Lauderdale, FL on mini-breaks. :) School starts back up on August 29th--what will be my hardest semester, I am sure! Psych, Critical Care, Nursing Research, & Leadership and Management. 15 credits, 29 hours total of class & clinical per week....... working full-time....AAAHHHH! Must think about summer........ :chuckle

At my school the semesters start in August; we get a Christmas break and a spring break (~1 week) and go through until May. Then we have May-August off. Getting ready to return 8/24 for my final year.
