Can you describe the concept of caring?

Thank you for taking the time to help a fellow LPN student.

have you looked at Watson's Human Caring Theory?

is caring a system of values?

is caring about instillation of hope and faith?

is caring about accepting the expression of positive and negative feelings?

is caring about the development of potential?

is caring about concrete actions?

is caring about sensitivity to self and others?

I have not read that no. So I sit here a bit.

There should be an entire section in your text book about the concept of caring, In our fundamentals book which is also the exact same book the LPN's use, there was an entire chapter devoted to that

Have you tried to Google "concept of caring"? It is a wide and varied topic centered squarely in nursing. Are you to write an essay on this, a paper or a short answer to a question? I really think it depends on how YOU see it...the exercise comes from your own experience of being cared for and now being a future nurse, what does it mean to you to be a caregiver? These are really great questions that I think you should try to answer for yourself...

I will give you one example of my own personal philosophy on caring: treat others as you would want to be treated (the golden rule!). Can't go wrong with that one.....

Good luck...;););)

The concept of caring can be very subjective, but perhaps you should look in your fundamentals book because I am sure they have an entire chapter on caring. :)
