I want to know what worked for you and what didnt.

Chemistry 2a in summer? yes or no?

Ant & phy 2 and micro same semester yes or no?

I have to get a 3.0 in science courses to be put into a lottery

What did you do with prereqs?Any help would be great!!!

Thanks

This is just from experience. I think chemistry in the summer is fine if it is a good subject for you and you have the discipline to study during the summertime. The classload will be much heavier as you will be doing multiple chapters per week.

In the case of A&P 2 and micro it is my personal opinion and recommendation to do one each semester. I did not take them in the same semester and I felt I was able to focus my time on each, especially due to all the memorization.

I can't remember what your last one was. Anyway, hope this helps.:)

Ditto the previous response.

I would take Chemistry during the summer. Depending on your study habits, A&P II and micro in the same semester could be awesome or it could be a disaster. Although, some of your micro material will complement some of your material in A&P II :) I took both of them together and did fine, but it wasn't as easy as it could have been and I was stressed the whole semester. If I had to do it over again, I'd do it the same way.

Thanks for the input.Ive asked a few nurses, and they said the same. I will take chem in the summer, but only that.My brother just graduated from college last week and said it would be rough taking more than one class with lab. Id rather take an extra semester and do well, than struggle through. My goal is to be the best nurse I can be. Good luck to anyone that is studying for finals!

I would DEFINITELY not stack Anatomy, Physics 2, and MIcrobiology in the same semester. I'm fairly scientifically minded and that would be a recipe for disaster in my case. At most I would take 2 sciences and leave the other for the next semester or maybe a Summer class that you are really devoted to and excited about.

Hello,

I see posts on other threads where people are being encouraged to take several science courses during the summer. Unless you are good at the sciences and you have a lot of time to study, I do not recommend doing more than one of these science classes and the corequisite lab at a time, especially during the short summer sessions. Its a lot of material to learn in about half the usual time.

I would rethink taking A&P2, micro and chemistry in the same semester. There is alot to learn in A&P2 and Micro. If you can space them out, that way you know you can make a good score. Not that it can't be done, it will just be stressfull.

So true. It is hard to do any one science class in the summer, 2 would be a killer. I wouldn't even take two science classes like micro and A&P in a regular semester. Remember, you will have lecture and lab in each course. That is a total of 4 classes. You are not always on the same topic in lab as you are in lecture (in fact, in my experience, you rarely are). Good luck. Remeber, you want to keep up that GPA!!
