Passed my Midterm Chem Exam!!

I am so excited! It was an extremely difficult cumulative test that took me 2 hours to complete working as fast as I could! As bad as this sounds, I did well.... I did 21/29 . The highest anyone did in the class was 23/29. So given that, I feel good. My instructor told me he thought I did great.

This class is very difficult as the instructor (a Very nice guy) is not really teaching us from the text the students have to study from. He teaches at a State University and is covering this community college class for a professor who is on maternity leave. So the students learn the chapters from our text, but he uses info and methods from his University texts that I think are more difficult.... so the tests, quizzes and lectures are set up a little different. I guess you would have to be in it to understand... we have had 1/3 of the class drop already because it is just really hard to keep up.

Anyway..... I am just so thrilled to have passed! I have a B in the class so far and we are halfway finished!! YAY!!!!

Quick question for you and whoever else would like to reply. I have completed all prereqs except for 8. The 8 includes all of my sciences. I will be taking Chemistry this summer at a community college here in Georgia. My question is do you recommend taking Chemistry lecture or online. I of course have to be on campus for the lab portion. The only reason I am asking is because it seems like taking the course online would allow me the opportunity to read, reread, reread, and reread again online lecture material whereas in class lecture doesn't really afford you that opportunity. Also I don't know if the professor would allow a tape recorder. I am currently working through a chemistry textbook on my own to get ready for this summer. I want to do my best and I haven't had to take a science course since high school which was in 84. All of my other prereq grades have been As and Bs but I'm still a bit nervous about this one.

They say nervousness means you're getting worked up for a good effort. I guess I'm going to be putting in a REALLY good effort.

I don't think I would understand it without lecture. The teacher really put things in laymans terms.

Oh definitely go for the lecture course! The book I have is good, but I would be completely lost without some lecture.
