To the most wonderful man I met in Las Vegas. After 2nd semester I needed a vacation...He was on a bachelor's party weekend. Turns out we both live in DFW. So over the summer I broke up w/my boyfriend, he w/his girlfriend, and we started dating last fall. But the wedding is set for the weekend after pinning/graduation; I went w/Vegas to save myself a lot of heartache over planning (many packages to choose from) and that's where we met.

So, the way I figure it, if we can survive my last semester of nursing school, we're ready for anything, right? I feel kinda crazy for scheduling the wedding before NCLEX.

Wrong. :redlight: You don't know him well enough or long enough to spend the rest of your life with him. :no:What's the rush? :hlk:

That's your gut talking - will you listen? You are working so hard on this goal - enjoy this time working on YOU! Then, have fun with your girlfriends before you settle down! :onbch:

Sorry this is not the happy happy joy joy post you're looking for. :msk: There'll be enough of those. :beercuphe

I'd wait till after NCLEX, personally. I got married last 15 October - missed that one day of class, then back into the rat race (MIL couldn't make it any other day). Planning a wedding while you still have to worry about getting schoolwork done et al is NERVE-WRACKING. Even if you don't go on a DIY freak like I did.

Congrats.

Im sure there are lots of people out there who got married that only knoew each other a few months, and are still happy and together. So I wouldnt assume whether you have knowm him long or well enough to get married. Only you know that

Im sure you are doing what you think is best, so go for it, as long u feel its right.

and Congrats once more. The wedding is just one day out of hopefully a lifetime, so dont make too much out of it :D. Small and simple, and you wont be stressed during your last weeks of school.

We cant judge others lives, and how they got together, just wish them well!

Different strokes for different folks, I met my hubs when I was 16, found out later that his family thought we would not last. Heck, I was 16, he was 21, even I thought we would not go further than a few months or so. Against the odds, this is still my hubster, my best friend on the planet, we have gone through storms, highs and lows, but I would never have wished to go through them without him.

other people really have no input into your choices, at the time their voices may be important, but years later, when you are still living your life with your best pal on the planet..(even if you NEED to choke him at times!), their words pale into the background. If it feels right, guess thats what I'm saying, then it is right! Hope it stays right for you, as it has for me.

Now in the next ten yrs...when Hugh Jackman asks for my hand...a different story....!!!!!!:roll

ok, my simple plan, honey bee, people are people, what fits for one may not fit for another. The absolute joy this girlie feels, it's infectious, I feel. just lets be happy that another girlie found her boy!

Congrats on the wedding and nearly finishing school! Good luck with everything.

I have to ask, couldn't help but notice your picture, is that your white german shepherd? Just curious I have one too and he is the best dog ever.

Congratulations!

I met and married my current husband within 6 months of meeting him, and we just celebrated 17 years together.

My first husband and I were together for two years before we got married, and he was a pig - I was just too young and blind to see it until it was too late - and I ended up leaving him and fleeing to another country with just the clothes on my back (long story that I won't bore you all with).

Anyhoooo, good luck to both of you.

Reread her letter. To me, there are a few red flags. Call me crazy.

Feel free to see the next showing of "Enchanted" with her.
