Nursing Journals

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Hi -

Just wondering what nursing journals (if any) that other students are subscribing to. I figure it can't hurt to start reading up on the current nursing procedures and research NOW, before we actually get thrown to the wolves! :uhoh3: (And Lord knows we have SO MUCH extra reading time on our hands, right?)

Does anyone have any good ones (that wouldn't be too intense for student level?)

Thanks!

I am a bit of an info-attic so I have a bunch of different journal subscriptions. To name just a few Nursing2004, American Journal of Nursing, Advance for Nursing, Nursing Spectrum, and Issues in Nursing. It really depends on what you are looking for in a journal. Nursing 2004 and AJN are very technical, Advance for nursing and Nursing made extremely easy are alot lighter but they generally have good content.

Specializes in Emergency Dept, M/S.

I just ordered a subscription to Nursing Made Incredibly Easy. I also snag my MIL's old copies of RN and Nursing. Some of the articles and questions are informative, and they do show a lot of procedural stuff.

And you're right about all our "extra" reading time! :D My kids are on vacation this week, so I locked myself in the "reading room" with one of my many English Comp. books so I could actually get some studying done! :lol2:

I LOVE Nursing2004, and you can get a student discount. They have great articles concerning med errors, latest advances in technology, and focuses on many diseases. It would benefit you to subscribe to it. I have also heard good things about Nursing Made Incredibly Easy. If you are a fan of the book series you will probably love the magazine.

i'm glad to hear that Nursing made incredibly easy is a good read! I just subscribed!

Specializes in OB, lactation.

I got all the Nursing2003 and Travel Nurse issues on Ebay for cheap. Someone usually sets some extra Nursing2004's around our department at school and I try to grab one. I don't have the time to really sit and read a whole issue at once, so they go into the loo. See, even my potty time is taken up by school!! :imbar But it's actually perfect, you know?

I also just subscribed to Nursing Made Incredibly easy today too! Since I am still taking pre-req's for Nursing Schoo, I figured that this might be something that help me a little.

Hugs!

Thanks - that really helps. Does anyone have the web links to Nursing Made Incredibly Easy or Nursing 2004? I want to make sure I'm following the right directions to get the student discount!

Thanks! :)
