I've been lurking for a few weeks and finally decided to join :) There are a lot of intelligent people here and I hope this site will continue to be a positive resource during my final two semesters of nursing school.
I am just finishing semester two of my A.A.S. in Nursing. I love it more than I ever expected I would. I do have one question: I just did my first surgical rotation this past week. I felt sooooo out of my league, but fascinated. Is this a normal experience for a newbie?

Welcome! I haven't started clinicals yet so can't say for sure, but I would be willing to bet it's normal to feel out of your league and fascinated at the same time. I'm sure you will gain confidence as time goes on. Best of luck to you! :)

Yes, it is because it is all new to you. After some time and experience you'll begin feeling different.

I should say welcome home...If you turn out like the majority of us you will spend LOTS of time here, almost like a second home.
Grab you a bag of popcorn and a soda or tea, pull up your comfy chair and enjoy......

Welcome-I'd have to agree I spend lots of time here! And yes, sounds like you are having normal feelings being new to the profession and all. Take care!
Thanks everyone :)

Surgery is a fascinating area ... Lots of ooooh's and aaaah's. Cardiology is also fascinating.
