My letter came today

  1. and....I'm in!!!!....I'm in!!!!....I was so happy I was crying. I have been accepted into the September 2004 program at my CC. I was accepted into a program at an out-of-county CC....but I"m much happier that I'll be attending this one...it's more affordable. Now I have to plan, plan, plan. I'm still looking for a day care for my 17 mth. old son...he'll be 21 mths. in Sept. and the day care fees are outrageous. I called one day care center and I told her that my son will be 21 mths. in September. She told me the fee would be $167.00...I said, "You heard me say that he will be 21 mths....almost 2 yrs. old" and she said, "Yes, I heard you...the fee is $167.00 per week." I couldn't believe it...that's absolutely ridiculous. Anyway, I digress.....

Congratulations to all those who have been accepted...and sending (((Calming Vibes))) to all those who are still waiting.

CONGRATULATIONS!!:hatparty: It will work out. That's what I keep telling myself also. I need before school care for my youngest. I have never needed any daycare before. I need to find someone to put her on the bus. I am going to miss her first day of Kindergarten. I could cry.... Good luck to you!!!

    Congratulations!!

I know how expensive child care can be. Luckily my 4 are past that stage, as my oldest is almost 14 and can watch her younger brothers for an hour before I get home. I hope you can find something suitable. When I was still working, before I got pregnant with my 4th child, we pulled our kids out of daycare and hired a nanny (not live in, though). It was actually cheaper than paying daycare for 3, they were not sick anymore, and could attend a private preschool. The nanny made more money, and we paid less. Maybe that is something you can look into.

    But, congratulations.

Congratulations! Isn't it exciting? I, too, am putting my 3 year old in daycare for the first time ever. My fin. aid counselor told me they will help out with loaning me money for that. He said not to let money stop me from going to school, and whatever aid I needed, they would find it for me. Good luck to you! :hatparty:

Congratulations! :hatparty: I'm really happy for you, I know you have been waiting a long time for this. Good luck with the childcare, New Jersey seems to be really high. My daughter started last year when I started school and the first daycare she was in charged me $220/week! I ended up finding a fabulous one that charged $150/week (she was 17 months at the time), she just turned two in March and I'm still paying the same rate. That is actually cheap in my area! Good luck again.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and encouragement. I am very excited. There is so much to plan for, I have to find child care and back up child care. I plan to start buying supplies, etc. next month. I also have to start on school clothes for my 3 yr. old. My dd's who will be in 5th and 3rd grade next year are going to private school....so I won't have to worry about that. Oh, and I have to send my confirmation letter back to my CC.
