Is this likely to casue trouble assuming i want As in both? and i do work full time. just curious. i'll break them up if it is a bad idea.

Well, if you must....

I don't think I could, but that's me.

Good Luck if you decide to forge ahead! :)

In my school, A&P II is a prereq for Micro. And I'm glad, because it made much more sense to me.

Prior to entering the nursing program I took Microbiology and A & P II together (though I was told not to do it!) but I had no problem. I had a B in Micro and an A in A & PII. I also worked almost full time and am a single mom with 2 children at home. I think what helped me the most in doing this was that my school offered these courses (one night a week per course including the lab). I would not recommend taking these with any nursing courses especially. We had to have A & P I & II before we were even accepted into the program, but Micro had to be completed by the 3rd semester. Several in my class took Micro with their nursing and definately wished they hadn't. If you have to take Micro while you are in nursing, you might want to wait till the summer you are out or take it your 2nd semester in nursing because with myself, though the content was fairly easy in my first semester, I had to learn how to take their tests and that is something that you want to learn from the beginning. Good Luck!

I took A&P II and Micro at the same time, and got two A's. It was hard, but do-able in my case. Depends on what kind of student you are, really..

Goodluck!

 I'm in the same situation. :o I'm taking A&P 2 & Micro together, also I have to go full-time so I'm taking 2 phys-ed classes and an easy computer class. I'm pretty nervous and have been studying the past two weeks and plan on studying a lot next week (when my son goes back to school and I have some "me" time). My A&P instructor is pretty cool (I got an A in A&P 1) but I've heard that the micro teacher is terrible and really hard to follow. :imbar

Anybody have any tips for studying/learning micro????? :stone

About half of the students in my nursing program are taking at least one of the tough lab sciences at the same time as the nursing program. I think if you have good time management, it can be done easily. I'll be finishing up A&P II at the end of February (my LAST co-req!!) and I swear, I'm not going to know what to do with myself with JUST the core nursing classes to worry about. I'm afraid I may be bored! :chuckle

I took A&P II with micro, along with human growth and development and english II...like everyone else said, its tough but doable, but then again I didnt have a job or a family...if they are the only two classes you are taking, I would consider it...I was told I couldnt handle taking two sciences together, but got B's(which are great for me) in both.....it all depends....

I wish i was in a position to take these classes with a bunch of others but i'll be doing it while working fulltime as a Network Operations Center Technician.

I am not so much worried about the classes as i am taking them while working a job that requires alot of your mind and requires learning new technologies as well.

If i do take them both, i should be a full time student for spring semester 2006.

Don't do it. I took A&P I and micro last semester. The amount of info we had to remember was enormous (sp?). I graduated with my first BS (Physics) with a 3.9. I am now the lucky owner of two C's (not official but the instructors emailed me I passed and I don't think they meant a B or above). And guess what, I am so happy I passed. :balloons: I am a SAHM of 3 kids 5 and under. I took two other classes (P/F) with it and they were all online. I probably could have pulled off a B if I had more study time. But the kids come first. But I could have gotten two A's had I taken them separately. You can pass them but if you need the A's I wouldn't take them together.
