NCLEX test was out of control!!!!!!!!
I know exactly how you feel. When my computer stopped at 75 questions, I was so upset, because I knew that I had failed. I wanted it to keep on going to let me prove myself. My problem was that during the exam I tried to analyze my questions, whether they were high, medium or low level. If I got one that I thought was a "lower-level" question, my anxiety went up because I put pressure on myself. I had no doubt that I had failed and I was already figuring out when I could test again. All I did for the next 2 days was cry only to find out that I did PASS! So don't be discouraged by the type of questions you got. I believe, after my experience, that higher level questions can be asked in many different ways. No one knows but NCLEX. So hang in there until you get your results. Good Luck!

New nurse scared to talk to doctors!!
Thanks for the advice and I will try to remember that when I talk to them. I guess it will just take time. I know that I will have to build my confidence and I guess that will go with experience.

New nurse scared to talk to doctors!!
I am posting this thread because I thought someone might be able to help me get over my nervousness about talking to doctors. I graduated in May 05 and am working at a hospital about 50 miles from my home and I really don't know anyone there. I get so nervous about having to call a doctor or talk to them when they make rounds. Is this normal? I am just afraid I am going to say something totally stupid or they will ask me something that I don't know and they will think I am stupid! I have a great preceptor and he knows that this bothers me, and he is trying to make me face my fears by making me call them and talk to them. So far, it hasn't been that bad, but I am just waiting for one to go off on me and I don't know how to handle that. Sometimes I just want to wear a sign that reads "I am a new nurse"!!

Interview Questions When Entering Nursing School
Thank you so much for the tips!! I am scheduled for an interview at a hospital that I want to work at when I graduate in May and I have been so nervous because I really didn't know what to expect. I think that they will probably have the same type questions as these. I didn't have a formal interview before I started nursing school so this will help me very much. Thanks again, cp.

Anyone used the Princeton NCLEX review?
Our instructor told us about the Princeton Review because some former students recommended it because they said that a lot of their questions were similar to the boards. I bought it and have taken their tests too and I agree with you that when you take the tests, there is no rational like there are on the other popular ones. I believe that you actually learn more from the other ones such as Mosby because it is very important to know why you missed a question so it can help you on future questions. I wasn't too impressed with it. Thanks, cp
