  1. in a way you're right, but the stress your co-workers put you in when you tell someone you failed is also immoral. Ever heard of politics? the healthcare industry is just that 100% And I truly don't care what you think about my morality, my patients are well taken care of and they would be even if I DID fail the boards the first time, which I didn't! But for keeping my sanity I don't think it is anyone at your work places business as long as you are still in orientation anyway and if you will take the boards within the orientation time the 2nd time, telling would just make your own life hell. good luck to you and your judgments on me. You don't know me at all, and really after that smug statement-I don't care to know you and I hope you never give me care.
  2. Thank you all so much for everything. this website really helped me channel all the anxiety I was feeling. I hope I can be encouraging for the rest of you going thru the same things too.
  3. Exam Date: Wed, 31 Aug 2005 at 9:00 AM Candidate: NICHOLE Exam: NCLEX-RN: The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses Grade: pass let me tell you all............................I DID NOT believe I passed. I am so grateful for all of your support and positive words of kindness. I was really okay with NOT passing, I mean after all, that devastation in New Orleans is important, not this test. But for all of you waiting, I had 161 ?????s and left hysterical. hang in there and god bless. Im throwing all of these nclex books in the garbage. LOL I never have to do it again. YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Nichole M.G., RN
  4. are you able to get your score tomorrow? let me know how it goes. I'll do the same. be happy, you will be a practicing nurse soon. The $$$$$ is great, tell your mom to chill and be patient with you. In the mean time, don't ya think you might find a job as a nurse intern somewhere, all you need is your degree for that, if you fail, just say you haven't taken the boards yet and make some money now. you follow a real RN and make RN pay, just a suggestion. let me know what you think, Nickie G.
  5. henry ford community college. 2 year program. I sware I wish I would've done a BSN program now, I never absorbed ALL that information the way I probably should have. They cram so much into so little time. I am telling myself I failed just so that i won't have a nervous breakdown tomorrow when I find out I did. Expect the worst and hope for the best!!! Isn't that what they say?
  6. why are you waiting for results after 7 days? doesn't your state have a phone number you can call 48 hours after you take them? I know I can call in Michigan tomorrow after 2 pm and know the results from my test yesterday. I am so sorry if you can't find out that way. There is one thing you can write your state boards about implementing for test takers. how are you hanging in there?
  7. you make me feel so much more relaxed and trust me you are blessed to be with your daughter all of the time. I just took mine for the first time today and believe me, I'm pretty sure I bombed it myself. I was so upset today that I actually considered not doing it again, it is so stressful. All that time in school and the time away from my 5 and 7 year old boys. It stinks. Don't you think the test is somewhat redundant? I mean.......answering some question right isn't gonna save someone's life in a code blue. And it isn't gonna clean a quads rear when he has a BM. But that is the politics right? All money all BS and yet the nurse shortage continues. My husband told me to stay home with my kids for awhile if I truly failed this one. Maybe I will, my boys have sacrificed so much for this. I totally relate to the studying thing. It really takes away from your children's quality of life. necessary? I'm not so sure anymore. The ???s I got today were so far off base what I studied, I think I'll pay to just take it and not crack one book the next time. Maybe you should try the same strategy. Good luck and God bless you and yours. Nickie from Michigan
  8. thanks for the encouragement. I know we need to be competent and all, I just think its asking a little much for anyone to know that much content in such a short period of time. My program was 18 months-strictly nursing stuff. what was yours like?
  9. I took my nclex this morning. Computer stopped at 161. I cried hysterically . I really thought I knew more than I did going in. They asked me so many unfamiliar things, I got at least 35 pharmaceutical questions and none that were common like Dig or Lasix or even Beta blockers. I got NO psyche questions, NO diabetic questions, 3 math questions, 3 select all that apply questions, no pictures or diagrams and way way way too many prioritizing ????s. I KNOW I FAILED> Its so frustrating. 3 years of full time school, and about 60 hours of post school studying w/ disks, and nclex books. It figures. This test is in no way shape or form a way to grade someone's competency in the nursing field. I am so disappointed w/ myself and even more the standards the state requires to decide if you will be a good nurse or not. I'll know the verdict friday after 1 pm. Just know this: future takers, just try and take it. I know a few "incompetent" nurses who by the luck of the draw got REAL easy questions and passed at 75 w/ barely any studying at all. I wish I hadn't wasted my time studying and just failed w/ a life instead of failing w/out one. Nickie G. Michigan.
  10. I guess we all can't pass the first time. I don't even know if I TECHNICALLY failed yet. REally feel like there is no way i did though. Oh well this time I'm not studying......just taking it when I can. I never could've retained all of the information regarding the rare disorders they asked me questions about it in a million years. If I wanted to, I wouldve been a doctor. Also, don't we all have drug books on our floors? whats up on the uncommon drug ??s RIGHT!!!!! they do NOT give you generic and trade names on this test. Don't let me freak any of you out. I was never very good in the book area of school. I struggled the entire time, but I am one heck of a nurse in practice. I have no problem going to reference materials for answers. what's another 200 bucks? I have accepted the fact that I have probably failed and I am going to freak out if I passed that CRAZY DIFFICULT test. Dont listen to anyone about what their test had, because no one's is the same. You wont' have my experience and I can only pray that on you. blessings to all who will be testing in the future. Just get thru it, it's not the real world. Nickie G.
