ITT Tech or Keiser University in Tampa, FL?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am trying to decide which school I should choose for nursing school in Tampa, Fl. I am stuck between ITT Tech Breckinridge Nursing Program or the nursing program in Keiser University. I have searched all kinds of reviews but, of course, I have found so many all over the place which makes it even harder. I will be using a GI Bill so paying for school isn't an issue, I am just wanting the best school to learn from. Thank you for those who read and take time to answer back!

If youre looking for the BEST school imho id say neither...

But of the 2 I would probably do keiser over ITT. I didnt even know ITT had a nursing program.

Rather than subjective opinions from strangers, go to each of their websites, verify their accreditation credentials and make sure youll leave with a degree that allows you to actually sit for the boards and practice. I know keiser is good on this (now) but I dont know anything about ITT.

Youll also wanna look at retention rates, as well as their pass rates for the nclex for the past couple years as well as how many students began the program vs those that failed out.

Schedules and length of program may also be things to consider.

Good luck

Umm, neither. ITT Tech is pretty much the worst of the worst. They are both for profit schools. I don't think you can even sit for NCLEX with ITT in my area. Every accreditation they ever had was pulled.

Please thoroughly research the schools you want to attend. Look at accreditation and NCLEX pass rates. For accreditation you want ACEN and regional accreditation. For NCLEX pass rates you want around a 95 or higher. What is the point of attending school if you can't pass the NCLEX or you can't get a job because hiring managers see where you went to school and throw your resume in the trash? Take your time and research your options.

Edited.

What I said wasn't helpful and it wasn't nice.

Keiser is a Non for Profit and ITT is For Profit. Keiser is accredited and ITT is not. You also want to look at the NCLEX pass rates for the campuses you are looking at. But if you have to take pre reqs I suggest you take them at a community college to keep costs low(er). Good Luck in whichever you choose!

Thank you for the suggestions I will be looking into those things.

Thank you for the suggestions I will be looking into those things. I really appreciate the help.

just graduated keiser sarasota. my program was a good program (cant speak for every program that keiser has). My class and the class before me all had 100% nclex pass rate. we all have job offers and even some at rotation sites. YES IT IS EXPENSIVE but i was able to reduce my cost by getting scholarship also its only 16 months as opposed to 24 month which is what comm. college offer so that lost of income can made up with a job 8 months before you peers.

no regrets going to keiser its a respected brand now. i have interviewed with 6 hospitals got 4 yes on the spot and am currently deciding between 2 of the top hospital in the state so yea good investment.

I know this is a tad old it I was wondering if you had any issues with finding a job in the Sarasota area after attending KU? I have a meeting tomorrow with them and I'm just trying to figure out which route to take. I have all my pre reqs already just not a super high GPA, like 3.6, I'm applying to SCF for Aug but I don't think I'll get in so Keiser was my next option....also looking into going to MTI for LPN then next year do the transition program, just have no time to waste I'm 32 with two small children. Also I have the GI bill so cost doesn't concern me either. Thanks for any info you can share.
