ITT Tech nursing program

I am currently a second quarter nursing student at ITT tech. This program is kind of all over the place with no structure. we have changed instructors twice already. I am finding it hard to adapt, anyone that has attended or currently attending that has any information, suggestions or advice

What kind of nursing program is this? A student needs to be really careful that at the end of the education one can sit for the NCLEX, and that the school is accredited.

If it is not working for you, it is not working for you.

You could see if any of the credits transfer to another program. Sometimes with technical schools they do not. But research all of the different choices in your area--perhaps a school that is more established is better for your learning style. Speak to the academic advisors of the local community colleges, other tech schools, that type of thing.

The credits will not transfer from there. Get out if you can now before they scam you out of any more money. It's truly a scam. They will withhold your diploma if you don't jump through there hoops and at least where I live, they are not accredited. So the hospitals won't hire you. To top it off, they are in deep financial trouble. They have closed numerous schools operating under other names.

The only advice I can give you is to hold on and graduate no matter what it takes!

Or you'll be broke, heavily in debt, jobless, and without any chance of transferring anywhere else.

Unfortunately, you can't transfer any credits from that school. As stated above, try to find another program before you get in to major debt with this school. They are notorious for holding degrees "hostage".

From what I have seen, the quality of for-profit programs varies a great deal between locations. There are some ITT campuses that have fairly good reputations, but apparently this is not the case for OP. Just Google a bit and you will uncover a lot of very negative information about ITT from former students, employees & faculty. Be sure to check the NCLEX pass rates for that location - but this may be somewhat misleading since ITT students are not awarded their "degree" until they pass HESI, even if they have passed all their coursework.

If you are planning on pursuing a higher degree at any time in the future, you will want to attend a regionally accredited school so you won't have to start at the beginning because none of your previous credits are transferable. As stated by PPs, ITT credits are not transferable.

I was in your situation and I left. We had different faculty every quarter and different program chairs. I specifically asked about clinicals and was told they were at a specific hospital nearby turns out they were about 1 1/2 hours away in a different state (found that out 2 quarters in). It was disorganized. No one that i know of was satisfied with the nursing program and others left when I did. They eventually got in trouble with the state's board of nursing for various different things. Its a lot of money as well. Check the BBB on them and your state's BON. Just make sure you finish your quarter out before quitting for financial aid purposes.

You're lucky it's only your second quarter. I would get out now, or risk the chance of owing thousands of dollars in debt and ending up not being able to pass the NCLEX.
