Jun 23, '04Hi there. I just was accepted into the ASN program. Really excited. I was denied a few months back and was devistated. Thought my "life dream" was over, but then it all worked out. I have all of my pre-reqs down and start the nursing classes this Aug. I have been reading postings here for quite some time, and became addicted. I just registered today, couldnt stand not replying/posting anymore. I am so excited about school and am full of so many "what if's" "how so's", but many of them have been somewhat answered here. Thanks to all of you and best of luck to all of us!

Jun 24, '04Hey all. I've been missing on here for about a year, I think. But have been looking forward to being able to say "I've finished! I'm an RN ! WooHoo!" And there, I said it (grin). I'd say I was out of school, but that wouldn't be true, as I'm getting ready to take some classes in another month (Critical Care Transition prg, and my ACLS -had that, but let it lapse about 4 yrs ago).
To the new-comers in nursing school..: You can do it, keep at it, and many on this board will be very helpful. They were to me!
Anyway, good to be back, and I look forward to being active again.
Oh yeah, I also managed to get myself married (grin), about a week before taking the NCLEX (talk about TENSION!)
Jun 27, '04gromit, welcome back "home"! you have been busy..hehe congratulations on passing nclex-rn! way to go! married, congratulations! much continued success to you.
Jun 28, '04Thanks Love-A-Nurse
I'm hoping to acquire a new bike in or around August. Have my eye on a Harley Road King Classic -either the 2003 Anniversiary model, or a 2004 (the '03 will have some of the custom things I want, already on board, and has very low mileage -the guy who bought it didn't care for it, so never rode it). Either decision will be a good one (grin).
Right now, though, I'm just working through the jitters of having new responsibilities. I had a partial orientation while working as a GN, so they expect this one to be roughly a month long. I need to work on my organizational skills and speed, tho. (sigh. Always has been a problem of mine. I'm a "slow and steady" kinda guy Maybe thats why I like the big cruisers, and not the little crotch-rockets, when it comes to bikes?)
I gotta admit, though, it feels SO GOOD to finally be done with the NCLEX.
Hehe, I've still got a large print-out of my license (I scanned and shot it to the laser printer) pinned on my bulletin board in my computer room
Jun 28, '04Quote from love-a-nursethank you!!! it is so exciting. i had my eye "physcial" for my nursing program today! eeks! bad news there, but we will get some lenses and be on our way! hopefully the others dental and med phys will be much better news! i am very excited!!!! ive waited for this for a long time, time to use my "chicken" wings and fly to the beginnings!!!! now hopefully they will get the right wind to carry me through this long hull!welcome!
congratulations on starting nursing school this fall.

Jun 28, '04Hi everyone. I am Beth- and I am completely new to all this stuff! I actually came upon this site by accident, but I think I will like it. I am currently in my first quarter of nursing school (ADN). I have waited a LONG time for this, so am a little bit overwhelmed right now, but am hanging in there! So hopefully I will chat with you all soon! And will look forward to talking. Thanks. =)
Jun 30, '04Hi everyone,
I have reading this site on and off for years. I finally got my butt back to school this past January and today I finish my prereqs for admittance to an RN program. I have really enjoyed being back in school and hope the rest of my time is as interesting as the past 6 months have been. Tonight I take my A&P final (last night was my lab final). Yipppeeee.
I am 32 and mom to two girls ages 8 and almost 2. I feel like this is my time and hope that by the time my younger one is in school I will be working a job that gives me some fufillment while still being able to be an invilved parent.
Thanks for reading and I hope to get to know you all soon.
Jun 30, '04Thanks for the welcome Kirsten and Suzy. I have been checking this thing non stop for the past 2 days. Everytime I get on the computer I have to check. I think this is getting addicting! Is that a good thing or bad thing? :uhoh21:
Well, will talk to you guys sometime. And Kirsten good luck on your A&P Final!!
You guys have a good evening.
Jun 30, '04Hello I am Art. I am 25 and married. I am going to a community college and I just started my prerequisites this spring and I will hopefully get into the actual program this spring so I can start taking my actual nursing classes. I have been browsing this board the last week or so and all it is doing is making me more anxious to get into nursing.
Jul 1, '04Quote from will7678Welcome aboard! Keep the fires stoked. Just wait until you get to actually begin doing procedures. Your enthusiasm will likely get jacked up a notch or two (grin). I've only been an RN for a couple of weeks now, and I'm loving it. It was definately worth all the sacrifice, trials and tribulations.Hello I am Art. I am 25 and married.
