How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.
Care to share?
Hi! I am Pepper. I am 28 and will finish up an ADN program in May 2004. I have always wanted to be a nurse, just took awhile to quit work and go full time. Then, we got pregnant! So, I took another break and now I am back. I have a 21 month old daughter and great hubby that support me. I plan on working postpartum after I graduate and pass the NCLEX.
I chose a name with RN in it already because I like to think positive! I think envisioning yourself where you want to be can help get you there!
Hi,
I am currently taking core classes for an LPN program at our local Technical College. My school just started an RN ADN program. I am trying to get into this program. I have turned in a request to change my Major already. I am so excited about this new program. I had to take extra alegebra testing, I am waiting to hear the results, this will determine if I have to take extra math classes or not. To be considered for the program I will have to take a college alegebra class and a biology class and take a pre-entrance test. I am going to do my very best to get into this program. I am 40 years old, married, and we have five children. Our kids are all grown and left home except the youngest, which is a 14 year old girl named Jennifer. I have wanted to be a nurse my whole life, but always had to take care of the kids. Now it is my time to do what I have always dreamed of, which is becoming a RN! I absolutely love going to school!
katrin, welcome, an early birthday wish to you!
