How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lacey and I am a 21 y/o female. I am a jr. at a university and will be graduating in Fall 2004 with my BSN! I can't wait to start my profession and would like to go into womens health!

Hello fellow students and future-nurses!

My name is Julie and I'm 25 years old. I'm married, no children (yet), and live in NYC. I'm at Pace University in a one-year accelerated BSN program and am very eager to begin my career as a nurse. I have grown up around doctors and would like to find my niche in the world of nursing. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

welcome, julie. all the best to you!

Hey, my name is Nikki. I'm 22, have a B.S. in biology, and just finished up my first quarter of an accelerated BSN program. I'm officially a nurse as of next September!! I'm engaged to a med student and our apartment is a total mess because we are always studying and have no time to clean! Welcome to everyone new!

Hi, Nikki! It sounds like I'm in much the same boat as you are. I'm also a nurse as of next September, only my husband is a resident in radiology, so you can imagine the kind of mess we live in. His hours are very long and I'm usually too stressed by studying. Nice to meet you!

Hi~my name is Steph and I am currently taking one of the three pre-reqs I have left...Anatomy. I plan to take Physiolgoy and Micro either this summer (one at least) if I can, and what I cannnot take, will be taken in fall of 2003, so I can HOPEFULLY enter the program Spring 2004. Sheesh that sounds far off, but I know it is simply one year from now.

I have on 14 mo old baby boy with a wonderfully supportive daddy who loves us both to death. He is behind me all the way in this.

I am so happy to have found you ladies. Nobody can understand how much I am spazzing out over this. I am happy to have a background as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (which here in California is very similar to an LVN, licensed by same board...we focus on psych/mental health and developmental disabilites rather than geriatrics.) The background is REALLY going to help me.

I am excited and dying to start the program. I am happy to have a good handle on the whole nursing process, assessments and medications. *phew* Every little bit will help.

Good luck to everyone.
