It's okay. We'll all get through it. I don't work, but between taking care of kids, full time nursing school, training for and running races, taking extra classes because I'm bridging to BSN the moment I graduate in May, applying for CNA jobs to get an "in" in hospitals, being a mentor for 2 incoming nursing students, being a mentor for 1 incoming honors student, trying to take care of my aging father, going to church once a month (it's truly all I can spare), and oh yeah, cooking. shopping, cleaning, laundry, the dog, the cars..........I have no stinking life!
But, I only have 2 1/2 weeks left of summer school, baseball season for my son ends Friday, my hubby is taking me to Cancun during my 3 week break between semesters, and I only have a year left. I'll be fine as long as my family survives it! :)

This past Saturday I broke down in tears in the library when I had to decline: an awesome pig roast backyard party, a trip to the beach, a tubing trip, dinner plans, a friend who was visiting from out of town and beautiful weather outside. On one hand...I feel grateful that people still remember I'm alive. On the other, I am so, so, so, so tired and emotionally stripped. Let yourself be sad. Give yourself outlets when it gets to be too much. Make plans for when you are done so you have something to look forward to.
That's so crappy. Couldn't you have taken a personal day from work?

I cannot explain to you how many mental breakdowns I had during nursing school. hahahaha But when I walked down that aisle during graduation; the feelings I felt were like an out of body experience!! I would never have changed anything; because in the end it's all worth it. THE LIGHT IS THERE!! :)

Anything worth having requires sacrifice. Yeah it'd be nice to be out partying with your friends, but if you want to be an RN who knows his/her stuff, you have to be willing to put in the time. When you're making 75-80k as a base salary while your friends are making 35 in their entry level positions, you'll be happy you did the work. The parties and nonsense will still be there after you pass the NCLEX
