:uhoh3: How long did it take for you to finish all pre-reqs ?

When I took the placement test, I was pretty good with math (I can take Pre-Calculus class) but since English is not my mother tongue, I have to spend a lot of classes with english and biology. I am thinking about one year include summer classes (If I am lucky and put all my energy in it)

what about you guys???

I already had a business degree, so it took me 3 semesters of evening classes to finish up my prereqs. I had to take A&P 1 & 2, chem, and microbiology along with the psychology classes. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought!

It took me 3 quarters taking maximum hours for my ADN course.

Specializes in Clinicals.

After taking a year to decide that pre-med wasnt for me...3 years.

Specializes in None.

Well I originally came to college to be a Finance major......thenn changed to Psychology.....lol.....then switched to Journalism.....Then FINALLY settled as Nursing. I will be done with Pre-reqs this Fall, which puts me at 3 and a 1/2 years. Then the BSN program is two years. So I will be in college on a 5 1/2 to 6 year status, but its worth it to not graduate on time and sacrifice. Then to get an esay degree and be miserable, gotta work so why not work in a field you love?

Specializes in Pediatrics, High-Risk L&D, Antepartum, L.

I'm in a diploma program and didn't really spend time taking any pre-requisites.

I had to have 4 unites of English which I had between HS and I had taken English Comp a while back just to start dabbling before I knew what I wanted to do...basically take it for the sake of taking a college course.

I needed 3 units of Social Studies which I was able to use HS stuff again.

For math I needed 3 units including Algebra I which again I could use from HS. I had taken a math college class but I don't know if that counted or if it was just HS stuff.

Science I needed 3 units including a Chem/Lab which again came from HS.

So I didn't really spend time taking anything.

It was about three years for me as well at an average of three classes a semester and taking one summer off.

Stay away from those tricky non-transferrable classes.

BL

Specializes in ER, Occupational Medicine.

It has taken me just under 1 yr! Now just accepted into nursing program:nurse:

Since it has been 7 yrs. since I have graduated high school, my chem. and bio. has expired. That sucks. But when I wrote everything down class by class, I am looking at one year and a half for pre-req completion!!

Specializes in SNF.

2 years baby@@@!!

As a full time student it took me 1 year to finish all my prereqs.
