Holy wash cloths, Batman! (ATI video out of control.)

My school uses the ATI website and tutorials to supplement out learning. For the last few days, I've been wondering what my schools guide meant by "The number of wash cloths in the video is not necessary or available...." As a former CNA who is quite experienced in bed baths, I didn't understand what the heck the video could possibly be doing- using 10 wash cloths?

I just got the passwords for the tutorials, and lo and behold, they must be using 60 wash cloths in the video. The nurse has a soapy water basin completely full of wash cloths, laid flat, a basin with just water and flat cloths, and a stack as tall as the basin. She uses 3 different cloths for every single body part- wash, rinse, dry. My hospital would go broke just doing that much laundry! WTHeck??? Does anyone really wash that way??????

Anyway, I found the whole video terribly amusing. I wish you all could see the stacks of cloths.

That is pretty funny, but why would they make a video like that to begin with if they need to use a disclaimer?

The video is from an online set my school purchased to supplement their classroom/lab teaching. They didn't actually produce the video, but in the book my school faculty wrote (our Nursing I Guide) they make the disclaimer. I just think it is bizarre how she bathes the patient- it would be nice to have that many cloths available, but it is just unreasonable.

I had to laugh because my school requires ATI also and I remember that video you are referring to. I thought the exact same thing. It was really over-the-top with the amount of washcloths the nurse in the video used. Not real-life nursing IMO.

I had to go watch the ATI video for myself to see what you were talking about and omg it is alot of wash cloths! Seriously I don't think we even have that many wash cloths all at once to even do that. LOL
