Please tell me that someone has heard of a Hessey test. I may be spelling it wrong. My school uses it to test us going from our 1st year to 2nd year. We have to have a 85% to advance to the 2nd year of our 2 year ADN program. Any info on this test will be greatley appreciated.

I think it's spelled Hesi. I don't have any experience with it though. My school uses the ERI tests. If they are anything alike, it simply tests your knowledge of what they have taught you. We have to take one at the end of each semester & if we don't pass.....we go through "counseling" to review what we need & then get one additional chance to pass it. If you don't pass, then you're out.

We tale NLN exams at the end of each rotation. It is a predictor on whehter you will pass the boards. I scored an 80% on my psyc test and I am very pleased. I know my area to focus on is meds. tehy seem to give me such trouble. I wonder if all those tests are the same?

Go back to Student Nursing Discussion and at the bottom where you can do search type in HESI and you will see replies that I got when I asked the same question. I'm in the same situation as you before I can advance on through with the ADN. I take it in October or Nov. I think.

HESI stands for Health Education Systems, Inc. I just took the HESI PN test not too long ago. It has 160 questions and basically it says a score of 85 is acceptable and a 90 is recommended.

I know a lot of schools have a minimum to continue on in their program, but our school didn't. So based on that information I hurried through the test as quickly as possilbe and I scored a 99.5. This does not mean I got a 99.5%. Actually, I missed quite a few questions so it worked out to be an 80%.

After the test we got to print our results and see what we missed. The areas that scored below an 85 they recommend serious remedial work. And it looks like I need that in assessment and safety and infection control!
