Help with taking out private loans, starting nursing school in fall

Hello people,

I need help! So far I've filled out fasfa and pheaa and got grant money from both. I haven't been able to get scholarships because my program is "part-time" program for adults even though it the workload is the same as the day program. The part time status limits scholarships i qualify for.

So far I've taken out in government student loans 8k for pre-reqs.

I need to take out private loans for nursing school. I will only be working 1 or 2 days a week. Can someone point me in the right direction? This is my first time taking out loans aside from the government student loans.

I was planning on going to a few banks and see what they offer. My financial advisor is not allowed to advise me on private loans. =(

Thanks

All my private loans were through Sallie Mae. You can apply online, it's quick and easy.

I know our school offers advice on regions student loans, Sallie Mae and 5th/3rd bank. Region loan require you to be working I believe. I received Sallie Mae because I'm not working while in school and they have a deferment plan like fed. loans. You apply online for Sallie Mae and I believe Regions. This is how it went with my school but I have no clue how your school will handle it. I applied online for the loan. They allowed me to add a cosigner if needed and they told pretty much immediately if I qualified. They let me choose how much I needed/wanted. then they told me how much they are willing to give me. Then choice loan terms and agree to them. The application is sent to my school in order for the Financial aid office to "certify" the loan. the loan will be dispersed to the school and at my school I can either cash the check or place the money on my account at the book store.

I know how hard it is trying to secure money for school. I hope I helped!

I once had a private student loan that was originated by Sallie Mae. A close friend of mine obtained a private student loan through Chase. I know that Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citibank, and all other major banking chains offer them. Of course, applicants with good credit scores receive the most favorable terms.
