Having trouble at clinicals. Do I say something?

Long time reader, finally bit the bullet to actually make this post as its been troubling me for a bit.

Little back story, I'm in LPN school set to graduate in June. We rotate out clinical teachers and sites every time the term changes. My current instructor is nice, have had her before, however I have 2 problems.

The first is I really, really don't like the group I'm with. In fact out of the 6 (including myself) there's only 1 other student I feel safe with. That has my back both literally and figuratively. If that was the case only I'd just deal. I work as a CNA right now and honestly don't care for many of my coworkers (mainly the way the treat the patients) but still I show up, do my job and my patients both at work and clinical have no idea how annoyed or upset I am.

What made me finally post was this. Lately I have been given the easiest assignment at clinical. Pt is walking, 100% alerted, very minimal issues. This weekend my shift was so boring I started helping the aides as I had nothing else to do! I know my instructor likes me well enough, and I understand that she needs to see me doing certain things before I can do them solo but how do I tell her I'm dying inside! I'm a CNA at heart. Give me more than 1 pt that needs more than vitals and their 3 otc meds!!

Help me please. Hopefully I made enough sense in my rambling. I tend to ramble a lot. Thanks ADHD lol

Did you talk to your instructor? Start there. You don't need to like your classmates you do need to respect them though.

A girl in my class asked her clinical instructor for an extra patient because she had lots of experience as a CNA and could handle the extra load.

So the instructor gave her 2 of the hardest patients on the floor and basically let her drown. She was extra harsh, asking why the student didn't know the answer to a question when asked and was short with her all day. The other students helped her, of course, but that student never said a word again.

Be very careful.
