Hardest nursing class?

I am starting my nursing classes in January and I am getting very curious and excited to start. Does anyone have an opinion on which class is the hardest...the one I need to watch out for? I am going to give 100% to all of my classes, but I do like to be forewarned, rather than slapped upside the head, if you know what I mean. Thanks! :)

Jen, Long ago and far far away in nursing schools, pediatrics was traditionally the "hardest" course study wise - not clinical wise. (I am from the south) I really do not know now what course would be the hardest - I do know nsg theory and nsg research are viewed as hard, but they really are interesting. good luck with your studies - frankie RN for a long long time

That depends more on the student than on the class. Some people find psych intolerable, others like it, etc.

I don't have a "hardest" nursing course to list now but I'm sure in the future there will be one.

I took all my psychs at another college, they all went really well.

In my school nsg210 (Mother/Baby) seems to be the breaker for a lot of students. Unfortunatly that is what I am in now. It's not the clinicals but the tests. I got my first 80% and was really bummed since I thought I did much better. I'm not sure how your program is set up but there is always that one class that is harder than all the others for some reason.

Good luck!!!

welcome to the board! hardest, hummmmm.

In my school, theory wise, the course that held the endocrine and cardiac systems was the hardest (we called it Adults II). Clinical wise, peds was the hardest. Welcome to the boards. :)

Well, I'm in the first semester of the clinical program and I'm taking Fundamentals, Assessment and Pathophysiology. Thinking about it, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between Fundamentals, Assessment and Pathophysiology. :chuckle

PHARMOCOLOGY!!! All the memorization, interactions, pharmokinetics, what it does and what actions it takes...hated that class!!!

I think it depends on what you like and don't like. If you hate bio, you will struggle in Pharm and your Anatomy and Physiology classes. If you hate math, you'll struggle in Pharm. Just learn to like everything and it will be easy....:)
