...but not mine, my kids'! You'd think by now I'd be used to this, one being in 4th grade and the other in 3rd. Ugh. Am I just a wuss or does anyone else get a little weird on their kids' first day back to school??:imbar

Me! Me! Pick Me!!!! I'm a total wuss.

Means we care. ;)

Oh, not at all, you're a normal caring Mom. My kids are 17 and 15 (senior year and 10th gr.) My son got his license over the summer so now he drives himself and his sister to and from school. When they left the first day of school, I stood in my living room window and cried as I watched them pull out of the driveway! I consider myself caring, but is this normal?!:chuckle

"Hi, my name is Fatima...and I am a wuss."....lol. My dd's started school last Thursday...they are in the 4th & 2nd grade. I did get a little teary eyed when they got in line with their classes. I have to laugh at myself though....all summer I kept thinking..I can't wait for school to start....they just bickered with each other the entire summer...lol. Now it's just me and my 2 boys (ages 2 1/2 & 8 mths) at home. :) And I don't know what to do with myself...besides study my A & P 2 notes.

My oldest started kindergarten this year... I did get a little emotional, but probably much less than lots of Moms... he's been in daycare since he was 8 weeks old (I work full-time), so I'm used to sending him off every morning.. :(

Glad to see I'm not the only wuss! I get teary-eyed even watching my two oldest (22 and 20) sometimes! My youngest is four, and I'll probably embarrass him when he starts kindergarten by standing outside the window staring in and bawling!

Children are precious, and watching them experience "firsts" in life sometimes gets us choked up a little. They have no idea just how much we love them.:kiss

Kids are great, aren't they? (Most of the time.)

My youngest started high school this year. I was going to be in a meeting when he got home from his first day so I called my mother and made her call him when he got home. Just in case he needed mommying.

I still remember how I cried when they each started kindergarten. When my second one started I thought "well at least I won't cry this time." Wrong.

What a sweet mother! I'm usually jumping for joy!!! Woohoo! School's back!!!

(I think I did feel that way with my first and second... they are 25 and 16 now... but with the third who's a special needs guy it's totally different! Boy, you are outta here! I've usually had to work with the school for quite awhile to get him what he needs and I'm ready for them to take over for awhile!)
