Just saw that too...I liked the part where his sisters said they can still beat him up if he doesn't act right...lol...yay Dr Phil

That's good cause, as I recall, a few weeks back he stuck his foot in his mouth regarding nurses. He said something related to nurses wanting to marry doctors to get out of a bad profession.

You do realize this was in response to his previous comment regarding nurses being gold diggers right I mean he didn't just come out and praise nurses for the good of the profession, he also did not apologize which to me makes anything else he says worthless.

I believe Dr. Phil is sincere in what he said about nurses on BOTH shows. He is human just like everybody else. He is a man, and SOME men love locker room talk about women, and it is no secret that SOME women (regardless of their profession) search for husbands who can give them a good life financially. This is an age-old human condition -- IMHO. Heck, I'm looking for a man who will offer me a good life financially so I don't have to bust my butt working so hard to only go home to an empty nest afterwards. And, if it is a doctor I happen to hook up with, I won't care one iota what anyone calls THIS nurse.

And, let's keep in mind...there are SOME men who want a woman with a fat bank account for the same reasons. Let's call it like it is........looking out for number one.

Guess I'm not as sensitive as some to topics like this. Don't mean no harm, just saying it like I feel it.

My own problems are two-fold
1. He made a mass generalizaton originally, his recent statement that he had seen "lots of cute little nurses" who wish to "seduce and marry" physicians as their "ticket out" of nursing. OK so lets for the sake of argument say 10% of nurses actually have this as a goal when becoming a nurse, I believe 1% would be closer because I really don't think too many people will go through all the crap(literally) you have to in nursing to bag a rich man. Still 10% is a very low margin but with the people that watch his program it sounds like it could be as many as half the nurses that enter nursing do so with the intent of bagging a Doctor, and they are for the most part the type that like to repeat what they hear so in the American public nurses took a giant leap backwards due to his comments.

2. He never even apologized, he said he was only talking about the nurse that was there and this incident, well then why say lots of cute little nurses" who wish to "seduce and marry" physicians as their "ticket out" of nursing. These statements make it sound like number one they are gold digging worthless people that really aren't even doing their jobs, and number two, they never wanted to do their jobs they just wanted to bag a doctor and the easiest way was to become a nurse, Let me tell you I don't consider it easy to become a nurse so he hurt us again right there.

So yes you are entitiled to your opinon and yes he is entitled to his, but I am also entitiled to feel like he has caused major damage to a profession that is already struggling for every littlel bit of recognition we get and the public does not need yet another reason to see us as useless little gold diggers.

Actualy I got into it to meet lots of cute little nurses! I did and I married one LOL, although she will not support me outright we seem to do ok together pooling our resources!

On a serious note though the female doctors I know are very good and brilliant and will take no crap, They have made their mark in a predominantly mans world and are tough enough to make it!!! Just like us males in the nursing bus!

the majority of nurses i work with would'nt want a doctor, especially the ones we all work with everyday.
as far as what dr. phil i cant stand him he's the most self righteous thing i've ever seen can u imagine how terrrible it must be to be his wife i'm sure he must want to critique or discuss her every move for ex. "ok honey lets examine what your true motives are for wearing the red thong" :hatparty: no wonder his sisters are nurses someone in that family has to be real. and whats up with that son of his.dad messed him up so much hes reduced to following around drug addicts to take home to dad there not puppies.
