Do you really need a rolling backpack?

This question has probably already been addressed, but what the heck...

How many of you use, or plan to use a rolling backpack? Is it honestly necessary for your particular program? At first I was going to buy a rolling bag, but then I ran into a standard backpack that I fell in love with. Not sure if I should turn my back on the rolling bag idea..(I know, I should probably wait to see how many books Im required to bring) Just curious to see what everyone is doing in terms of hauling their items to school.

PS. While on the subject of backpacks....anyone recommend a good lunch box for those 8 hour school days?

Good luck to everyone starting this fall. I've got 26 days to be lazy and I'm taking full advantage of it!!! :lol2:

I also refuse to drive a mini van*L*

I started 3 weeks ago and the first 2 weeks i was using a regular backpack. my back was KILLING me!!! Now that i am using a rolling backpack, life is SO much easier! especially when you have to carry 4 or 5 heavy books everyday...plus your binders/notebooks!

I never was one to use a roller backpack, but all of the 2nd semester nursing students got one, and they were filled with nursing goodies, specifically items to help us check off skills. Anywho, I emptied all my supplies and put there somewhere safe and began using my roller backpack. Honestly it saves my back! I am a CNA so my back is already not in the best shape and some of these books are super super heavy! I love my backpack and I don't feel the weight of a nursing book care plan book two binders two folders etc.... all at ONE time!!!!

I know some people think they are dorky :uhoh3: but I am not at college to be in a fashion/popularity contest. I am there to get my nursing education and I have made some friends!!! I honestly don't care what I look like wheeling my backpack, because it does save my back tremendously

What kind of rolling backpacks are you using? I'm starting school in Oct and not sure what to get.

Are you going to carry 5 textbooks with you at once? If yes, then I'd go for rolling so you don't break your back. But I never brought my textbooks to class and I only studied for one subject at a time, so an over the shoulder bag worked fine for me.
