December 16, 2006- I thought the day would never come!!

Pictures are next Friday, and I'm going to wear a cap I've decided. Just for the pictures, not for the pinning. In fact, I'm not sure I'm even going to the pinning.

I can't believe our big day is around the corner. When I walk around campus and see the ppl studying out of the Fundamentals book, I just roll my eyes and think how glad I am that it's almost done.

Honestly, if I knew then what I know now, I might not do it all over again. I am so proud to have done it, and to be almost finished, but I don't think I could do it again.

Would any of you?

What are your plans for graduation? Our school doesn't "walk" in December, so the pinning is it unless we want to return in May to walk. (no thanks)

Congratulations in advance. Let's support each other on this thread until the big day!!

NEXT!

Congratulations. :balloons: I wish I could be saying I was graduating this year. LOL. You would walk by me and your eyes would hurt from rolling back so far. (I am still in pre-reqs.) :uhoh21: :lol2:

4 years till graduation!!!!!!AHHHHHHHH

I have 7 more days. I never thought this day would come. I can't believe how much I have learned in the last 3 years. Not sure I could do it again, it has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am actually a little sad that it is over, how scary to be out in the cold cold world all alone, without a clinical instructor or the student status. I have already noticed our study group drifting apart, we all had different hours with our senior practicum and weren't able to get together as often as we used to. That said, I can't wait to be done, I am going to take the NCLEX as soon as possible, I just want to be a nurse now.

Another Dec 16th grad here!!! I cant wait, really!!

Well, I'm not quite Dec. '06, but close to that-we are done in Feb. 07!! I can't wait either. For so long it has seemed like this day would never come and now in a weird way it almost feels like it has come too fast. Does anyone else have that bittersweet feeling? I think I may have it worse bc I am moving away right after graduation, so I will *really* be saying goodbye to my classmates. I am excited beyond belief though!! Good luck to everyone else graduating in December(or winter anytime)!

Oh, and we also have pinning and then can choose to return to walk in the schoolwide ceremony in May. I am not doing that, much to my parents dissapointment. I don't think anyone in my class is coming back to walk. I tried to explain to my parents that pinning was the more important ceremony for us nursing students, and I think they understand, but are still dissapointed that they won't see me in a traditional cap and gown after all this time.

My last day in December 12, 2006. I can't believe that it is almost over either. It has been such a long road to get to this point, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. Congratulations to all those graduating next month and good luck in your nursing careers.

Congratulations, guys! You're almost there!

2010 has a nice, round, ring to it! :balloons:

You'll get there soon enough. Enjoy your time while you have it now in pre-reqs.. you'll probably not have much more of it once you enter the "program".

Good luck!!

Another December 16 grad here! I am feeling all of what you guys have described - happy to be finished, sad to not see my nursing school buddies all the time (they become your family, don't they!), scared to be in the real world of nursing, and most of all, proud to have made it through the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life.

Not sure if I'd do it again, but I sure would hate to still be at my old banking job going nowhere! ;)

Congrats to us all!

Well I wasn't going to post here because I don't want to "jinx" myself but if all goes well and I get out of this dang Maternal/Child Clinical ok...then I will be graduating December 15th!!!! It's been a LONG road.

Congratulations everyone!

Jill

:lol2: I graduate on December 7th and cannot wait!! I wouldn't do it again if I had the choice, nursing school has been hell. We are having a pinning and most of my class isn't coming in May to walk, so we're all going to the pinning. I am terrified of the boards...how can you possibly review all that information you've covered? Anyways, I am so glad it's almost over!!

Erin

I am now officially a graduate nurse, I take my NCLEX on Friday, Dec. 8. I am so nervous. I have been going through Saunders CD answering as many questions as possible.
