Can anyone recommend a good Patho book?

i have 2 that i use here at home in answering questions here on the student forums:

pathophysiology: a 2-in-1 reference for nurses by springhouse, springhouse publishing company staff.
- organized by body systems. each disease includes causes, pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, complications, how it is diagnosed, medical treatment and nursing considerations (interventions and patient education). does not have any psych or ob problems in it.
[*]pathophysiology: the biologic basis for disease in adults and children, third edition, by kathryn l. mccance and sue e. heuther.
- this is a formal textbook of 1600+ pages. excellent resource but sometimes difficult to read.

Also recommend this: Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults and Children, third edition, by Kathryn L. McCance and Sue E. Heuther.

Took me through undergrad, and now I'm using it in my grad patho.

Our BSN program uses

Understanding Pathophysiology 3rd edition by Sue E. Huether and Kathryn L. McCance

It sounds like they have more than one Pathophysiology book.

1.Atlas of Pathophysiology by Lippicott Williams&Wilkins-great atlas,many large pictures,causes of diseases and patho behind it,love but tend to be expensive,can be found in any Borders bookstore,it runs for 60 but worth it.

2.Portable Pathophysiology by Lippicott Williams&Wilkins (order it through mail),it is a medium pocket size book with pictures and explanation of patho,you can carry it to your clinicals and even show your patients the pictures of certain diseases (when you do the teaching)

3.Patho 1 in 2 (the first book mentioned by Daytonite).

To sum up I love my atlases better (I'm a picture person,have to see the organ to understand it)

During one of my clinical rotations in NS the floor had a Patho book that was so clear, concise and easy to understand that I bought one:

Pathophysiology: Adaptatinos and Alterations in Function by Barbara L Bullock

For lecture we used Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults & Children by McCance and Huether so I did use it, but often used the Bullock book for clarification.

I too use "Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults and Children" by Kathryn L. McCance and Sue E. Heuther. My copy is the 4th edition, but I think the more current one is the 5th one published in 2005.
