Anyone still waiting on letters?

Just wondering.... anyone still waiting for letters?

Yes, I am still waiting!!!!! And it's absolutely ridiculous that I am still waiting. I took my "2nd chance NET" 2 wks. ago today!!!! I also decided to apply to another school for next year. It's a little more exspensive than my CC but I have to have a back up plan. The thing that has me the most puzzled is that I don't understand why they don't have some sort of list of "students who were accepted into the program but forfeited their spot due to some unforeseen circumstance" When I took my NET I met a few women who were in the same situation as me...they were accepted but gave up their spots...for various reasons. It's not fair that we have to be counted among the next new group. If only it were up to me...lol. I have been calling the nursing dept. now for the past 2 days and they are keeping all the lines busy....:o

Oh, yes, I'm STILL waiting...in fact, I called the advisor's office today to find out when the letters had been mailed. I assumed they HAD been mailed, because on our applications it says you can expect a reply within 6 to 8 weeks from the application deadline, which was June 1st. Yesterday was the start of week 8, and still no letter.

Well, according to the person I finally reached after running into two different voice mails ("leave us a message and we'll return your call by the end of business today") and a returned "due to fatal error" email to the nursing advisor, the letters HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN MAILED YET! She said they probably won't go out til Friday the 1st, or Monday the 4th. When I asked her why the propaganda we've been given says "allow 6 to 8 weeks", she said, oh, we assume 4 week months, so that would mean August 1st would be the "8th week" (2nd month) mailing date. That leaves just four weeks to get all the physicals, books, supplies, uniforms measured and ordered, etc. since classes start 2 September. For those of us who work fulltime, this is going to be a challenge. I also wanted to give at least four weeks notice at my job, since I've been here for ten years, but that probably isn't going to work out...I do plan on taking at least one week vacation between leaving this job and school starting, since it will be a long 16 months before I have that chance again!

So, here I sit...still waiting for my letter. And, I'm just going on the assumption that my GPA and test scores have given me enough points to be accepted this time...the person I spoke with said she had over 1,000 letters to mail out this time (although I think that is for both the RN & LPN programs, both acceptance and rejection letters) and I know there are only 120 slots for the RN program. I guess there isn't much I can do but continue to wait...as patiently as possible. But its not easy...

Sorry this is so long, but I'm having a crappy day here at work, plus my car A/C died this a.m. (not a good thing in Florida in July)! Your post just gave me the chance to vent and get this off my chest. Hope your letter comes soon!

Yep! No one knows who has been accepted for our program that starts the 23rd of August! Now we had to have our completed application in by March 1st, mind you. All the grades from summer semester had to have been submitted by yesterday, and hopefully letters will be out this week or the first of next week. Even people who were finished with prerequisites from the spring semester don't know.

I went to pick up the form for the physical from the Nursing Department and they refused. Stated policy was it comes with acceptance letters and will not be given out any sooner. They wouldn't even tell me what all I needed for the physical. Geeze. So, we'll have about two weeks to get everything documented and submitted (we have orientation a week before school starts).

I wish they would send out conditional acceptance letters after the spring semester or something. Oh well....

OMG Cheryl....... make your appt now!

Cheryl, that is terrible! I thought I'd have to rush to get things done by Sept 2nd, and you only have til August 23rd! How do they expect you to get things accomplished in such a short time? I swear, they deliberately (sp?) do things like this to weed out those with less "intestinal fortitude" right from the start...that is ridiculous! And your application deadline was March 1st? What have they been doing for the last five or six months?

I made an appt w/ my primary care physician "just in case" for the 11th of August...I had to fight with them to even get that one...they are going to work me in. I hope my insurance covers whatever I need done (and I have no idea, like you, what exactly that is at this point) to be accepted for school.

I hope you get your letter soon, and it all works out for you...Good luck!

Wow Cheryl. My ADN program starts Sept 2 and we got our letters in May. Had our first orientation to goet paperwork, clearences, physicals, etc. done and our second orientation is on August 27th. Good luck to everyine waiting, it is so difficult.

That is amazing, we got our letters in March, had orientation in April. That gave us time to get our physicals, shots, fingerprints etc.

So sorry to hear everyone is having such a long wait.

Good luck and I hope you all get in.

For those of you who are getting your physicals, find someone who is in the program already and ask if they have a copy of the physical form that you can use as a guide. That way, all you have to do is take the blank form when you get it to your doc and he/she fills in the blanks. Good luck to all who are waiting! You will find that this happens even when you are in the program...."have your papers in by ____" and you don't get them back until 3-4 weeks later (if you're lucky!) because your instructor has "alot of other things going on!!.

gg.......

I am thinking positive thoughts for you!

Letter arrived yesterday-I'm in!!!!!!!!! Yeah! I did find out that the physicals and stuff have to be done before we do clinicals, so that buys me some time-yeah again!

I am sooo excited and a bit scared, but that's okay too!
