Anyone need to vent?

Nursing Students General Students

hello friends! i am entering my 3rd week of rn school and had my first exam today. i will let you know how it went when the results are posted. i was doing alright until one of the students asked if she had to wear her uniform to clinicals:confused:.......i couldn't believe it. i have a sore throat and am trying to study for a pharm test tomorrow, prepare for the first exam in health assessement a week from tomorrow, and prepare my notes for fundamentals exam ii, in two weeks. i needed to "!scream!" and i knew i could come here and do just that. thanks for listening.

how are things going for you?

Subec ,

If she doesn't study does she past her exams? That's interesting let me know!

i was doing okay until today....the class i was looking most forward to was patho, it just looks so much more intersting than A&P. i had my first class today.....my prof talks a mile a minute, what she is talking about is not in the notes she made us purchase, she dosn't mention anything that the notes talk about, and i can't find either in the text book!!!:( i can feel all the stress that was aleveated (spell check) over the summer come rushing back!!!!

nursing 101---we haven't had any tests yet, so I can't report anything. I am interested to see how she does when we do actually have a test.

And, in fairness to her, she does study some, just not much. It just seems that she watches a ton of t.v. I don't know how she is possibly going to learn everything that we are required to learn.

We took our first test last week, we are required to take the tests on a computer. Everyone did awful on it. I think there were 2 that passed with the lowest 'C', and they are the straight 'A' students. What is wrong with taking tests with paper and pencil? I think we (the students) ought to have say-so in how we take our tests. Any thoughts on this?

Hey all!

Great you're all venting. Just remember, that you have more tests after the first test to help out your score if you are upset about your first test scores.

I just bought my psych book and syllabi for school starting in two weeks. The teachers haven't even told us what time to show on Monday the 23rd. Someone heard a rumor that we should be there at 1pm, I mean come on teachers, send out a letter...do something!

These teachers are really hard too. One is a psych nurse and is the most fake person I've ever met. The other one is the only male instructor. I don't like the guy. I've gotten to know him more (had to as we roomed together in Mexico for nine days and then I got the room to myself! haha) and I'm not scared of him anymore. I just realize that these instructors put on a front like they're all that but they really aren't. He, however, is the most condescending and that makes my blood boil.

Ok, so I'm venting a little too. Tell me, are there folks on this board too that like VERY few instructors at their school? I would say I'm a pretty nice guy, but man am I able to find faults in the instructors there. Last quarter's teacher graded a paper (I thought I did well) really low and it brought my grade way down. I call her the devil incarnate for various reasons and fully believe she's capable of malice. LOL I know I sound like I'm talking about the Third Reich! Anybody else out there have to make fun of their teachers daily just to survive?

My gripe is that I want to hurry up and go back to school. I am looking forward to getting my financial aid check and getting caught up on my bills. I am also afraid that I won't remember anything that I learned in class over the summer. I have not thought about school at all over the past month since my brain really needed the break since my summer quarter...RN year, here I come.

My turn. I got my patient history write-up back today and I did poorly. (This is for Advanced Health Assessment). I even had a checklist to go by and I still left stuff out! I am sooo frustrated with myself. It's all in the details! My roomie is a fourth med student and has promised to help me work on my H&P skills. I just feel really stupid and that I will never be a good nurse practitioner.

marie, your site would not come "up" for me. i pray the rest of your week is a good one too.

The nursing receptionist at our college is not student friendly, she treats all nursing students like they are burdens and she clearly doesnt like us or like her job, one or the other.. well today.. she was walking outside and she accidently tripped on a brick flower box or something or other and she tumbled to the ground, fortunately she was fine, just a little limp.

I swear no one moved that flower box, it's made of bricks.
