Nurses General Nursing

Specializes in sub acute, ALF. Currently in RN school.

I was just wondering how already being an LPN helped you in getting your RN, any advice, ect. Thanks in advance. :)

Well, it helped having experience in the hospital...and it helped being a CNA before that. It's very useful in giving you insight into different roles.

Specializes in OB, M/S, HH, Medical Imaging RN.

I was an LPN for 26 years before I got my RN. I went through Regents which is now call Excelsior. It was a great program for me but it's not for everyone. You have to be pretty self-disciplined.

I went through a ladder program, got my LPN, while I was working as LPN the hospital I worked for paid for my RN.. didn't take a break between levels.

Specializes in everywhere.

I went from LVN to RN at the same hospital where I've always worked. I think it helps from the stand point of understanding different roles of different levels. I also think that it really helped in my skill and confidence level.

Good Luck
