As a prospective nursing student, I have heard highly of the books by Echo Heron. But I don't know which one to get. For someone who is not yet a nurse and wants a general overview, which one would you recommend ?? Thanks for your help. :)
I was thinking about the one called "Condition Critical: The Story of a Nurse Continues" but I am really not sure. Please help and tell me which one you would recommend ?? Thanks !!

Intensive Care: the story of a nurse... is the first one, not sure if they matter what order you read them or not

gotta agree with nurs2b all of Echo Heron's books are good, and I feel can be read out of order. Even her fiction books like "Mercy" give an accurate portrayal of nursing. Start with whichever one tickles your fancy. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Happy Reading!

Echo Heron----she sounds like nursing's version of Sydney Sheldon from the descriptions or her stories I read on amazon.com. Have never even SEEN one of her books before or heard of her before coming here to allnurses.

I'm reading "Intensive Care" right now. It begins with her starting the nursing program, and goes up through graduation, her first job, and well, after that I don't know b/c I haven't finished it yet.
I got it used off Amazon.com for $0.25 plus shipping.
She tends to be a bit over-dramatic, but I'm finding it very interesting, and a good read. Recommended for anyone thinking of going into nursing, or any health care proffession, for that matter.

I just picked up the "Intensive Care" book yesterday at the library. Will begin reading it today. Hope it's as good as everyone has been saying.
