What's a normal dosage of amoxicillin for adults?

Just have a quick question for the nurses. What is the most common dosage of ammoxicillin (SP) for adults in mg? My husband was arguing about it with someone at work and called me up to tell me to post this question here.

Just get him tylenol flu or advil (if high fever); I would give the same dosage as for amoxicillin 500mg q6h by mouth; besides, antibiotics do not fight viral infection, only common available meds (above) will help + hot cup of lemon tea and warm blanket, and good buddy...
