What is WITH this mandatory newsletter??

I have tried several times to post a reponse to a new thread (sorry, heaverboo!) but I can't get past the sign-up screen. Yep, DID the "you must sign up for the newsletter" thing, and STILL won't let me on. Left the site, came back, got it AGAIN. Didn't really need the extra stuff in my inbox to start with, but ..... ???

I got it too - going to see if I can reply to this post without hitting it.

This went through - apparently you can avoid it if you "quote" in your reply.
