I am an American educated, NCLEX passed, gainfully employed RN who had to apply for a Visascreen from CGFNS and I was just wondering if there was anyone else here who is waiting for their's or better yet someone who has received a Visascreen.

Please tell me what kind of letter I should send to CGFNS to authorize my friend, living in USA to ask CGFNS for my present status

Go on to the CGFNS website, click on 'products and services' then click on 'visascreen' then click on 'applicant handbbook'. Page 22 of the handbook is an authorisation form to release information to a third party. You can print this off, fill in your details and the details of the person you want information released to, then send it in to CGFNS.

You will get more accomplished by contacting CGFNS yourself. They are much more receptive to doing things for you, then they will be for someone representing you.

My wife had applied for it last year and we have no problems with CGFNS. some tips are as follows.

1. open online account on http://www.cgfs.org

2. When ever u call ask the person name,note the time and the answer from that person.

3. Call after 15- 25 days again.

IMP> For an american educated nurse do not have to pass the any English exam, so u should receive very quick result.

I sent the faxes to 5 managers of CGFNS...

I have friens living in USA... they can call them very often

If u have access to internet then go to http://www.cgfns.org and write the email to them. On the website go to the about us and click for the offices email is there. for email ( http://www.cgfns.org/sections/contact). write the email to Ms. Barbara L. Nichols, DHL, MS, RN, FAAN-Chief Executive Officer. i have writen an emial and they reply me. So u do in same way. Explain everything to them. Try to get the date and other info. when your school sent require papers to cgfns. If u have the freinds in usa u have to give them authoriy letter,which u can download and fill it from website. For authorization form go to application and forms on web site and select the " Third Party Authorization to Release Information - PDF ", from the top right cornor in the squre box.

You can also do one thing if possible that try to ask your school and nursing liscens authority to give the require documents in a seal cover with CGFNS address to you, and you can send it to your freind in USA ans tell her/him to send by the registered mail with sign option to CGFNS.

E-mails are not always responded to quickly by them. Still recommend phoning. I have worked with them for years, and have the best results this way.
