Hi luvbug!
Hmmmmm...at the end of a long dayyyyyyy???? If that long day ends after twelve plus hardworking hours on the JOB, I only have enough strength to drive home, strip, shower, maybe eat a tiny bite, and off to dreamland I go. :zzzzz
The first day that I have "off" from work, I sleep in until I feel like moving my body. I may even wake up, brush my teeth, wash my face, and crawl under my Indian Blanket on the sofa for MORE rest while watching some "fun shows" on the tube. Or, I may decide to walk the mall, eat lunch out with hubby or a close girlfriend, or read something I rarely have time to read lately.
I like long hot bubble baths on my days off (sometimes). Most of all, I like to LAUGH as much as possible. I mean to the point of tears. :chuckle Laughter is GOOD for the soul, and drains the body and the mind of stress.
I'm sure I'll think of others later, but right now my way of destressing is spending a little time at Allnurses, then lay on my sofa in my comfy robe under my soft blanket and CHILL.
Oops! Hubby just brought me some chinese food home for lunch. Out of here for now!
Happy Destressing everyone! :kiss

Refer to the thread titled "nurses and sex":kiss
also, hug my babies, kiss my hubby, eat a piece of chocolate, and jump on the treadmill for about 45 min.

Long hot bath. Good book. Cuddle my family (this is my favorite), get into a warm bed w/my golden retriever who loves so unconditionally. Ride in the boat with the family on a warm sunny day. Have a icey glass of white zinfandel. These are all things that help me "de-stress" so well......
welcome to the boards, luvbug.

Destress? I will let you know when I graduate.
No, seriously, the past couple of weeks have been very stressfull for me. What I did over the weekend was just slow down with the studying. Go for loooong walks and hikes in the sun. I like to destress by getting some exercise. If I am at breaking point and need some kind of outlet, I pop in a Pilates tape. This works wonders for me.
