Sleepless in Arkansas

I hope someone out there can give me some insight. I am having trouble sleeping the night after my four-day break from work. I have tried Ambien (works but expensive), Benadryl (hangover), and just lying there awake (no energy next day). I think it'll be better if I can figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?

Lisa :o

Have you tried melatonin?

Specializes in 5 yrs OR, ASU Pre-Op 2 yr. ER.

Melatonin works well for me, but like i said, that's just me, everyone's different.

(Reason why i'm up late NOW is that i have to sleep late tomorrow so i'll be worth something tomorrow night)

Just a few questions first

How old are you?

What stressors are new in your life (last 60 months to 2yrs) you may not want to mention them here but write them down.

Things like pet died, death in family, a move, a job change, new debt... etc.

What activities of daily living have changed in your life in the past 6months to 2 yeears

Do you exersize on a regular basis and what type do you do and when do you perform this activity? Has there been a change in this pattern?

I think you may know where I am going with this.

Take an inventory what ever kind you want to call it. It may identify something that is trigering this change in sleep pattern

Drugs...would rather do without if at all possible.

That is Where I would start.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, John, I know I need to just sit down and think it all over. It's just wierd to me that this only happens when I've been off...maybe I'm not as tired then. Thanks for all your suggestions.

No Problem. Its funning trying to find out from a stranger and with little to go on. You must have you head on your shoulder.

Im sure you will and in the mean time follow your dreams and never give up on them.

Remember it is usally typical that the one that have never will usallly tell you you cant.

For example it the tenderfoot that is easiest to tell an other Boyscout that Eagle Scout is impossible to achieve.
