Nurses General Nursing

I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and have two interviews next week. Do I tell them I'm pregnant? And I am already working as nurse right now but don't like my job. But I don't know if I will go back to work right away after I have the baby. I might take a year or so off. Is it stupid of me to go somewhere else at this point?

You won't have FMLA coverage if you quit. So your employer will not have to keep your job and benefits.

Well that is up to you. Can you afford to take extended time off with no pay/money?

Congratulations!

My youngest was conceived in between my interview and job offer. I disclosed *after* receiving my offer, but accepted the offer contingent on a 12 week leave. I wasn't legally entitled to FMLA, but my manager agreed to a personal leave once my STD was up, equalling 12 weeks.

I also know I was coming back. I had no intention of going through a full critical care orientation, working a few months and quitting. Now had the new job been an LTC position with a few days of orientation I would be less inclined to consider the facility's loss -- because that margin of loss is so much smaller.

Have you thought of going casual vs resigning? That way the facility hasn't wasted money on your training because you're still on staff, you keep your foot in the door and have no employment gap, yet you retain control over your schedule. You could pick up a shift or two a month while your husband/SO is home with the baby. Something to think about.
