PLEASE I need some advice/tips.

  1. ok I THINK this is the right place to post. I am new heree and I posted this quesation before but in the wrong place???

    Anyway:

    Hi,
I just took a nursing exam in Connecticut so that I could attend a LPN nursing program. Well, I received the results back from my test and I passed both the Math and the English. I also received a letter stating that I have to go to an interview to this nursing school/program. My question is can you give me some ideas of what to expect on a "nursing" interview and can you give ma ANY tips? I would truly appreciate any information at you can share with me.

    Thanks

Well, they will probably ask you why you want to be a nurse and how you feel you will positively impact the profession so be ready to answer that.

They may ask you if you feel prepared to handle the stresses of motherhood, school demands and family life and how you plan on 'merging' them without losing your sanity...LOL!

They will probably ask you what it is you think you will be doing as a nurse..and see if you have thought about this.....being a Mom helps because you've cared for sick kids. You can use this skill to enter nursing: caring for sick adults too.....and their families...in stressful situations.

Good luck...the interviewers will appreciate enthusiasm and maturity!

That was 4 years ago!!! ill try to remember some of them

    1) what has been a very difficult situation that you were involved in, and how did you overcome that obstacle.

    2) what makes you think that you have the "right stuff" to be a nurse.

    3) Do you have any medically documented reasons that you would not be able to complete the physical requirements of clinical work.

those are the 3 that i can think of right now. The interview was about 2 hours, so I know there were many more... i just cant think of them right now!

    Good Luck!

the only thing I can remember from my nursing school interview was when the dean looked across the desk and told me "There is no guarantee that you will even be able to find a job" This was spring of 1996. I laugh about that every time I think of it. Every day I say Thank god I am a nurse !!!!
