I think I am in the Pacific, but I sure don't make 53,000 a year. Is that supposed to be with OT? YIKES!

BTW Thanks for the post. You were quick to reply.

:chuckle ...hey wait a minute, i never made that much...:bluecry1:

I got this issue in the mail today. I was disappointed that there were only 3,800 respondents to the survey, so the figures are based on the data from 3,800 nurses in the nation. Add this to things that make you go "hmmm".

Specializes in Geriatrics, LTC.

I live in Michigan and I'm an LPN, my pay is $14.53 an hour.

Guess no one from where I live must have responded to that survey!....too embarrassed at what we are paid despite living in a good sized city comparable to others, where pay is higher.......

I've been an RN for 7 years......we're talking 39,700 a year base pay. And it's not like the cost of living here is that cheap! Arg, talk about something that just burns me up. :(

oh well, we don't do it for the money though.....not me at least. I knew nursing was not a huge paying job. But it would be nice to be paid what I'm worth, and I think what I do is worth more than that. Our trash men get paid better than that (sure, they perform an important public service, but don't require specialized education, don't save lives, don't comfort people in there darkest hours, etc etc etc)

ok, I'll stop. I'm in a mood. I almost bust a gasket in compusa today, I am cleary in a pissy frame of mind!

(edited for stupid spelling errors)

Did you all go over to the site and fill out the salary survey? I just did mine..they are still taking in numbers until 3/03.
