When I typed that reference to Canadians I should have included y'all.
The only reason I didn't, is I correspond with a nurse from South Australia and her terms and med names are quite a bit different from ours.
But you bet your sweet a** we consider OZ our friends and colleagues! Y'all ain't foreign neither!

All is forgiven P_RN !! :-) LOL
I wonder what part of South Australia your friend is in? Perhaps I know her /him?? It's not that big a place! :-) Have you ever been down for a visit?
Make sure you let me know if you are intending to come, I'd love to meet up with you.
I for one certainly feel most welcome here on allnurses & can see just how much alike we all are in many ways, both professionally & culturally.
Yes, there are distinct differences, but also plenty of similarities. As for the different terminologies ( nursing) I've noticed yours are indeed quite different to ours in a lot of instances. I sometimes sit here puzzled & ponder; "WHAT the hell does THAT mean!" LOL ...
Have a great weekend!
Cheers from "Down Under"...
Grace.

I woked with an American girl some years ago who was shocked we thought so little of our patients here..... apparently ^SOB doesn't mean increased shortness of breath in the States!!
