Nurse in drug rehab

I know an RN that holds a license in OH that is currently in review without board action, and a license in WV that is unencumbered. Here's my issue. I know she is currently in a drug rehabilitation facility and clearly has not reported it to the WV BON. I'm not certain if that is why her OH RN license is in review? I know she has failed UA's and refused them in the past. She just quits and runs. Do I report her whereabouts to the BON for investigation?

In this age of electronics, disciplinary action in one state will be relayed to another eventually.

If you are so interested in the 'process', ring up the board and ask.

If you are so 'worried' about the public, ring up the board and report her.

She has taken patient medications and has been fired from numerous positions. She needs stopped. Those actions deserve consequences.

The BON likely expects the employers who terminated her to be the ones who report her as the employers will have the paper work to support their allegations. Have you checked the BONs website? Are employers mandated to report nurse's termination of employment if they were terminated due to concerns about the nurse's practice? If the BON mandates employers to report, then how do you know she was not reported? It takes time for complaints to be investigated and sometimes the BON recommends rehabilitation rather than disciplinary actions.

Alright then! Have you people had enough yet?! Do you feel better? Lord I hope so! Put your pitch forks down and pat yourselves on the back! I won't be asking another question on this judgemental blog site that's for certain. Back to your moral high ground making excuses for and defending someone who flat doesn't deserve it!

Seriously, why did you ask for our opinions if you do not really care to hear them unless they agree with yours? You are the only one who knows the whole story and should do what feels right to you. I'm not sure why you involved us.
