Milk and Molasses Enemas

There are still physicians at the hospital where I work ordering milk and molasses enemas. Is anyone else out there still using these?! If so, what is the procedure followed for mixing and administering?

Came on here looking for the recipe for a Milk & Molasses Enema as I am currently suffering with fecal impaction and want to try one before going to the ER. I've been on the opposite end of the enema tubing and can tell you THEY ARE VERY EFFECTIVE!

A few years back I became impacted following abdominal hernia repair from the anesthesia and pain medication. I went to the ER. I was admitted, manually dis-impacted and then given a series of M&M's. I just had inguinal hernia repair and having the same problem. Thanks for the recipe and wish me luck.

Why not just have the patient drink a bottle (or two, if one doesn't get the blow-out required) of magnesium citrate instead of messing around with a messy, sticky M&M enema that may or may not work?

Haven't met a person yet for whom mag citrate isn't 100 percent effective in clearing an impaction.

At my first job we gave "cottonseed/colace" enemas...

Only have 3 yrs experience, but I have seen the mag citrate not work...

lol...3H enemas-haven't heard that one in a while. The last milk and molasses enema that I gave was in 95. We had the recipe taped inside the narc locker.
