Hello everyone! I am an eight month experienced new grad RN but I am basically lost ........when I say lost I mean....I cant find a home in the nursing field I like......I tried PICU but it was too hard for me.....I worked in NICU and I loved it ....but an issue came up in ...and now I am in occupational medicine and I hate it.....I am looking to go to a general pediatric floor but I think my heart is still in the NICU............I am so confused and tired of jumping around from job to job I feel like a yoyo....I also wanted to try OR nursing but everyone wants someone with experience in which I do not have at the time......................all comments and suggestions are welcome.....thanks in advance.

Even if you hate it stay where you are for a while. At only eight months and onto your third job you will rapidly look like a hiring risk if you do not put some serious time in at one spot. Grit your teeth tell yourself that you are going to learn something from where you work and keep at it - at least for a while.

Great advice, gwenith. It's true, you will be labeled a risk. It would be in your best interest to stay for a while. As I re-read your post, I guess I'm wondering about your comment that your heart's still in NICU and that you left due to an issue. Could not that incident been handled in some other way than your leaving?

Anyhoo, just food for thought and the future. There must be things in your current job that can kindle some interest for you. Stay, find them, learn.... you might be surprised.

don't know what your "issue" is, but you will find your niche, if you are patient and persistent. stick to it! work hard. and hang in there.
