    If you are losing hours, I would switch dept or hospitals. Where I work getting cancelled would be a luxury...It doesn't happen. Our beds are usually full w/ a waiting list to get in.

    I hear ya. I almost miss my old job, and getting put on "standby" every now and then. At my new job, FT and PT staff getting cancelled or put on "standby" doesn't even exist. If you are scheduled, you work.

    Our facility is VERY understaffed as far as RN's and LPN's, but we usually have extra MHT's (aides).
