I posted a thread yesterday about being anxious about a supposedly nonexistant position that I was being interviewed for. Well, turns out, the director made a position. She went around and got feedback from the staff about me, and decided to open up a position. I am so excited. I start on June 16, which is 8 days after graduation.
Just wanted to let you guys know....Now, I am ready to party!

way to go!!!!! Sounds like you are going to have a great graduation. Give us some job details
Oh, sorry guys! Well, it is a job in OB. The hospital requires us to take a 3 month orientation for all new grads. 2 weeks of didactic, and two weeks in med-surg. Then we get sent to our specialty areas. I will be mentored for the rest of the 3 official months, but in OB the mentoring and preceptorship usually lasts longer, unoffically. I am incredibly excited. I just can't believe that I will be in the working world in a month. I think what I am most excited about in this transition from student to nurse tech to nurse is that when I give meds, I don't have to wait until my instructor gets there. I can just give it.

That's an exciting feeling for sure.. yet scary at the same time. Be careful not to get overzealous in your excitement. I found myself doing that and had to put the brakes on.. very easy to make mistakes when you're excited about doing something in the beginning.
I'm really happy for you ! This will be such an awesome time for you ! Go get 'em !!!
