Just because Progeria is acting ignorant and childish doesn't mean you should stoop to her level and lash out at all LPN's in general.

This comes down to a question of IQ and experience, don't you think? There are intelligent RN's and intelligent LPN's, inexperienced RN's and inexperienced LPN's.

    SuzieQ1243,
I agree with you; we should be working together for the patients we serve, not tearing at each other's throats! As far as the RN/LPN thing goes, I'll again relate what a veteran RN said to me after someone reminded me that I'm "only" an LPN. When I told her about it, she said "I don't care what kind of alphabet soup you have behind your name, it doesn't mean you know sh*t!" She then proceeded to berate the person that made the comment to me.

I would like to say I make more than most RNs. I do.
HAHA how do you like that RealNurse HAHA
Fact MOST RNs are lacking in common sence.
Fact MOST LVN know what is going on we just need a book smart
RealNurse handy to use (like a carpenter and a hammer) If you knew or saw half the stuff I have done or saw, my well-being would be taken.
I have worked with many brillant RN's but the schooling that they recieve lacks in TRUE pt care. Most of them have never turned a pt but they were good leaders

LPN/LVN's do a lot of leg work in what ever unit they work. We have to be current in our knowledge and be ready and willing to take on anything that is delegated to us by the RN"s or charge nurses who work with us. It is hard work with little or no appreciation from those who have a higher degree than us. However, their appreciation can be earned by professional attitudes and by knowing the limits of our scope of practice. I have worked with RN's who were about as unprofessional as you were when you wrote this, but the majority of them are very intelligent and know the extent of what you have to offer them. In my opinion you gave us all a bad rep when you posted this. And by the way..... I am a REAL NURSE!!!!

I was reading posts on the LPN board a few minutes ago & saw Progeria showing her/his hiney even worse over there. If I'm reading right, she/he works for the Army so that may be the reason the pay is good. I'm not familiar with how much the Military pays.
I wish that LPNs, RNs, ADNs, Diplomas & BSNs could all get along better.

    Progeria-
    Your ignorance is truly astounding.
    Your grammer horiffic.
I for one am glad that I do not have your 'type" around me anymore. It is one reason I left the LPN-RPN "role" behind and became a RN. The hopsital I work in only employs RN's. It is one of the reasons I am there.
True ignorance is scarey. Your type - which sounds like a mixture of ignorance and a inferiority complex is really scarey.

Compared to other parts of the country, not too bad coming from Louisiana, a State that is always last in everything.

jmp- i find your post a little offensive in itself. you mean you moved to a hospital who only hires rns. to get away from all lpns. we are all not stupid like whatshisname acts. did you mean it like that. j ps there is that type of rn too.

I was an LPN for 5 years b4 I got my RN. Progeria, you are rude at best and very offensive. i am happy you are making so much $$, ALL nurses work hard and deserve financial compensation for the job they do. ALL nurses need to support each other, because that is what professional people do.

JMP, it sounds like you are lumping all of us(LPNs/LVNs) together with this progeria person. If that is your intention, how is your post superior to his/hers? Are you implying that you moved to an all-RN hospital to get away from LPNs? I refuse to believe that you meant it that way, and I hope you'll post a clarification. I hope all our posts cause progeria to realize just how offensive their post was to everyone. Also, I'd be interested in the reason that he/she chose such a horrible disease as their nick.

Let me ask you this, when a patient is going bad, do run and get another LPN or an RN?
ALL fo my pts are "going bad" as you say. ie questions about current CODE status. When I am in hte buliding there is no RN. Just me and another LVN. We have both been paramedics.
Me on the Army Special Forces side. Her on the civilian side.
NOTE the RN we do have just took off this incorrect order. Anyone with common knowledge would at least question it. It read: Levoquin 500mg po QID. this is 4 times the max. dose.
AND it was charted as given. SO guess who played clean-up?
RN's are Great. BUT fate it seams sticks me with the dumb ones.

Your pay is not that bad. In Missouri I was making 13 an hour and no benefits. So keep up the good work.
