Having worked at a facility that fired many staff I would suggest that they have suspended you while they obtain legal advise, with the view to firing you.
You stated that you have been accused by a coworker, were there any witnesses who could defend you?
If I was was you I would seriously consider resigning before I was fired, especially if this alleged name was in any way a racial insult.
Whether or not you did do it, I would contact your malpractice insurance provider and/or legal counsel.
Well if it isn't true in any way, you have a target on your back. If it is true, you have upset staff and now have a target on your back. I would start looking for a new job regardless of the situation.
This. Guilty or innocent, you're now a marked nurse. Best you get out of Dodge and learn whatever you can from this experience.
Best of luck.

I have been accused by a co worker of calling a patient a name I will not repeat. My boss suspended me and is talking to HR. How do I defend myself against this?
