have you ever work with someone who has lied about you or another co-worker just to have it their way? if so where did you go with it?

This isn't unique to nursing...anyone who has ever held a job will probably have a story about a co-worker who was less than truthful, or devious, or whatever.

I guess my reaction would depend on what was said, to whom, and what the fallout was. Based on that information I would either do nothing, go to the truth-challenged co-worker or to my supervisor for resolution.

Good luck!

I worked with an agency RN when I was a GPN at a LTC (lotsa' initials there, lol, didn't look right). She once called the sup 18 times in one shift on me, for such things as leaving the med room unlocked, keys on top of the med cart, etc. These were lies on her part, and when the sup came down to investigate, she found out that the door was locked, keys in my pocket, etc.

I initiated a talk with the RN, in the med room, away from any other ears, and asked her what the problem was. She was flabbergasted, and denied a problem, as well as denying calling the sup, but believe me, once she knew I was on to her, the reports stopped!

Best of luck, hope this helps.

It's difficult to comment on such a vague question. So much depends on the circumstances and the likelihood of a superior believing what you say.

It's frustrating to be in such a situation. I hope you can find a good solution.
