I am a nurse and now I have MRSA.:(

Specializes in Emergency.
How did you differentiate MRSA from MSSA?

thats a good question blondy! I imagine that it would be too expensive for the school to do sensitivities on all of those samples. Heck for some organisms we only do the sensitivities for drugs we plan on using!

to the OP: you can clear MRSA. are you colonized, or just infected?

Specializes in Trauma, ER, ICU, CCU, PACU, GI, Cardiology, OR.

was hospitalized and DIDN'T have mrsa! I was so shocked because I work nicu/peds and I KNOW i've snuggled some mrsa babies way to closely :lol2:

When studying nursing at uni we did a test in science class. We all swabbed our buttocks, nares and underarms, and then they were cultured. A good 7-8/10 of us had MRSA! Makes me wonder what percentage of susceptible patients get MRSA from health care providers!

Makes me wonder how many health care providers you know that are wiping their butts, noses and underarms on patients!
